Hit! Carly & Jax go Metro Courtin'

After weeks of dealing with that harrowing encephalitis outbreak and Courtney's death, GH's Jax invited Carly out for a "thank you" dinner at their hotel--but it was viewers who ended up giving thanks.

In 2001, Carly and Jax flirted with a corporate partnership. Five years, two actresses and a few spouses later, Port Charles' white knight and resident hell-raiser are finally getting back in the business of love. Bringing this slightly older but only moderately wiser pair of schemers together over Courtney's baby has yielded a bright and carefree venture. On such a dark show, crammed with plots about deadly viruses and violent gangster stories, Ingo Rademacher's Jax and Laura Wright's Carly sparkle like a blond toothpaste commercial, providing a much-needed break from all the bleakness.

"Scenes are for amateurs," Carly warned Jax before causing another one. And, whether it was getting a rise out of rival Robin or dubbing long suffering bodyguard Max "Twinkletoes" after a delicious dance number, Carly's Metro Court floor show proved that she is definitely a pro at having a good time---which translates into fun for the viewer. Then, planting a hot kiss on Jax for Max's benefit, Carly took "you're welcome" a sizzling step further. She once put the hurt on Jax's wallet; now, the risk may be emotional embezzlement.

It's too early to tell if this partnership will flourish, but old "frenemies" Carly and Jax are clearly proving that co-parenting a motherless preemie and co-owning a hotel can give birth to big fun.
