Laura Wright (Carly, GH)

What were some of your favorite New Year's Eves?
"One of my favorite New Year's Eves was when my husband [John] and I went to Colorado with a bunch of our friends who lived there. That was a good time. Key West is a great New Year's Eve. They drop a conch shell instead of the apple! It's awesome. One year, we were all in New York City. Kim Zimmer (Reva, GL) always has New Year's Eve parties and my daughter, Lauren, when she was old enough, would get googly-eyed over Kim's son, Jake [Weary; ex-Luke, ATWT]. That was a few years ago. Jake spray-painted Lauren's hair pink. That was fun. I love New Year's Eve."

Do you go out much anymore?
"I'm more of a homebody now. I don't like to go to places unless they're private parties. I really like to be with my kids because my daughter loves New Year's Eve, because she think she's capable of partying just like everybody else [laughs]."

Living in New York did you ever go to Times Square?
"Once, and I hated it. It was the worst experience of my life. I don't think anyone does it more than once. It's terrifying because when you get down in there--and I was down in there--you can't even bring your arms above your head. You move where the crowd goes. I thought someone could rob me and you can't do anything about it. What are you going to say? 'Help! Police!' It's not like anyone could find you. I would never do that again."

Any New Year's traditions?
"Black eyed peas! You have to eat black-eyed peas on New Year's Day. It's supposed to bring you luck and prosperity. Everyone will eat them but my son [John]. When he was a baby, we would dip his pacifier in the juice and give it to him. Now, we have to hold him down and force his mouth open [laughs]."
