GH – “I Love You”
What began as a relationship of convenience became the real thing for GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Jax and Carly. But now, he was choosing to throw that all away. Thinking her sweetheart was only leaving town for a short time, Carly planned an evening he wouldn’t forget. “I just want to make sure you realize what you have to come back to,” she said. The night was going well – that is, until Jax handed her a document giving her power of attorney. In other words, she had control of Metro Court. That’s when she realized he wasn’t coming back. Ever. Later, as he sat in his room, staring longingly at a photo of them together, there was a knock at the door. It was Carly. For a few moments, they just stared into each other’s eyes. Finally, she spoke up. “You never said you loved me.” He reminded her that neither had she. “If I did, would you stay?” she asked. He responded quickly: “If I did, would you trust it enough to let me go?” They melted into each others arms and took it to the bedroom. Their lovemaking wasn’t just about bodies colliding; it was real love. Afterward, as Carly slept, Jax got dressed. He approached the bed, knelt down quietly and kissed her shoulder, being careful not to wake her. When he reached the doorway, he stopped, turned to get one last look at her and whispered, “I love you.” Feeling he was out of her life for good, Carly opened her eyes, a tear dripping down her cheek. “I love you, too” she murmured. He left without knowing her truest, deepest feelings for him. Considering the history of these two characters, their love affair came a bit out of left field. But the chemistry between Ingo Rademacher (Jax) and Laura Wright (Carly) is something impossible to ignore. He gives her a touch of class; she gives him a wild abandon. They’re a match made is soap-opera heaven.
