Happy Holidays from the Wright Family
Waiting for Santa
Even though she and husband John recently purchased a new home, Laura Wright says that Santa instead will deliver presents to the family's Pennsylvania lakefront retreat for their children, Lauren, 3 and John, who will celebrate his first birthday just 4 days earlier. "On Christmas Eve, we're at John's parents' house in Pennsylvania," explains the actress. "Since Lauren is at an age now where she's totally into Santa, we're going to do Christmas morning at our house. Then the day after, we're going to my sisters house in Maryland to see my parents."
Besides leaving a plate of cookies and milk for Santa's snack, Wright plans on passing along to Lauren and baby John a Christmas-morning memory she and her brother and sister experienced as children. "Any presents that were wrapped, we knew were from our parents. But all of our big gifts were out of the box and completely put together and sitting around the living room as if Santa came and did it all," recalls Wright. "Like my brothers Drum set. Or a doll crib put together with the baby doll laying in there."
Between her two homes, hectic work schedule, and chasing after two kids, its no surprise that Wright did her Christmas shopping at the last minute. But, this time of year, she has the perfect excuse to get her eldest to behave. "With Lauren, I'm totally using that, 'If you're not good, Santa is not coming,"' she laughs. "I remember a year ago, I was wondering when we got to use Santa as a bargaining chip!"
