As Laura Wright (Cassie) and her husband, John, have discovered, being working parents dramatically cuts the amount of alone time a couple spends together. So the mother of two offers a piece of advice to those in her same situation: "You've got to take those moments and say, 'Are you ok? Do you want to talk about it?'" The Wrights have learned that when things get chaotic, you need to reconnect whenever you get the chance. "We can't plan for it," explains Wright. "For instance, John was so busy and was getting so frustrated with work that I said, 'Lets get out of here for two hours. Lets jump in the car, go for a ride and get your head clear.'" That spontaneous outing was just what the doctor ordered. "Without having to worry about who's crying in the back seat, just the two of us drove around town, go ice cream cones and chitchatted, then we went back to the house."
